Happy holidays everyone!

I hope you enjoyed our Christmas special " operation Yule log" and are looking forward to " ambush" coming out soon.

If you missed the holiday special, you can find it on the main 2039 site, and actually read it here on DA in a PDF format as well!
The special has it's laughs, but is at it's core a Moby story, filling in a little of his past, and setting things in motion for later stories.

Ambush is taking a little longer than expected, but will be out very soon, so in the mean time Feel free to check out previous chapters, or the new new-years poster recently up.

Now, before I get into the call for cover art again there is once thing to cover.

Chinatsu_Chan emailed a few questions:

Q: I'm loving what I read so far, and I wonder if there is anything you wish you had done differently so far?

A: So far I've been content, but then again, yes there are many things I would love to fix, or do differently. One is consistency in the look...which is understandable, at this early stage there will always be variations in a characters look/how they are drawn...that will smooth out over time. Another is length of chapters, Right now on average they are about 13 pages of " story" and 3 or 4 fillers. I would prefer to follow the Holiday specials scale more, that being about 20 pages of story, and I fully intend to start stretching the chapters out.

Q: If there is one thing you are doing that is " rather unique" in your eyes, what is it?

A: for this I really think the unique qualities will show over time...that being costume/hair changes. By this I mean That; though there are trademark hair styles, and outfits for most of the cast, like reality, they DO need to change clothes... It may be subtle, like Maria wearing her hair loose rather than tied up, or Tora wearing a coat over his shirt...then we can look at Matron Li who will be not only changing her outfits, but also her hair completely almost every time we see her.

Q: How long is the story going to be?

A: were I to get to the point of releasing 20 pages a week, or bi-weekly " someday folks" the main story is aimed at lasting at the very least several hundred chapters. Without giving too many spoilers away (and if you read the history codex) you will get the idea that whats going on in SF is not exactly unique...and there will be several " sub-arcs" that touch on those. As far as story goes time-frame wise 2039 actually is intended to cover 2039-2042...though the title suggests the current year, the numbers " 2039" will take on significance later on in a way that will carry it through.

Q: will we see other cities?

A: Yes, without saying too much I can safely say there are 3 major cities in Europe/UK, as well as 2 major cities in Asia, and 1 in Oceania that will play some significance... two of them have already been hinted at.
*one is mentioned several times in the history as home of a rival corporation, as well as initials on the stock ticker in chapter 4
* the other city has a corporation who's " trade initials" appeared on the Stock ticker in chapter 4.
